AUDITION: ASSASSINS, SOLANO COLLEGE THEATRE

This bold musical features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by John Weidman. SCT’s production is directed by Daren A.C. Carollo with musical direction by Joseph Anderson. A Broadway sensation, Assassins is told through the twisted voices of our country’s worst villains. It offers a boldly original and alarmingly funny look at America’s most terrible moments – presidential assassinations. Assassins is, at heart, a celebration of American principles and the strength of our institutions. The production is rated R for strong language and content.

Auditions will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 12 and 13 at the Harbor Theatre, 720 Main St., Suisun City. Callbacks will be 6:30-10:30 p.m. July 14. All roles are available including six to 10 ensemble roles. Non-equity actors only, please. Actors should prepare 32 bars of Sondheim and singing from the show is encouraged. Rehearsals begin Sept. 2. Performances begin Oct. 23 (preview Oct. 22) and run through Nov. 9 at the Harbor Theatre in Suisun City.

Please call the Solano College Theatre production office at (707) 864-7199 to schedule an audition appointment.

AUDITION: NOISES OFF, SOLANO COLLEGE THEATRE

This hysterical farce is written by British playwright Michael Frayn and is directed by SCT conservatory director Carla Spindt. Noises Off gives us a backstage look at theatre as a second-rate star leads a third-rate troupe in the fourth-rate comedy Nothing On. Go behind the scenes of the disastrous technical rehearsal and even more unruly performances. Misspoken lines and missed cues create pandemonium onstage, while backstage romances and jealousies spill from behind the curtain. Noises Off is rated PG.

Auditions will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 12 and 13 at the Harbor Theatre, 720 Main St., Suisun City. Callbacks will be 6-10 p.m. July 14. All roles are available: five men ages 20-70 and four women ages 18-45. Non-equity actors only, please. Auditions will consist of reading from the script. Rehearsals begin Aug. 11. Performances begin Sept. 18 (preview Sept. 17) and run through Oct. 5 at the Campus Theatre in Fairfield. Please call the Solano College Theatre production office at (707) 864-7199 to schedule an audition appointment.
